Knowledge Bases
Knowledge bases are crucial components of the Stepsailor platform, serving as centralized repositories for the information that Orion, the in-product assistant, utilizes to assist users effectively.
What is a Knowledge Base?
A knowledge base is a repository where all relevant information needed for Orion operates. It consolidates various data points, including documents, guides, and multimedia such as videos, enabling the assistant to deliver accurate and contextually appropriate responses to user queries. This repository acts as the foundation for Orion’s functionalities.
Importing Data into the Knowledge Base
Data can be imported into the knowledge base through different methods:
Web Sources: Users can connect to online resources by setting up a new web source within the knowledge base. This functionality allows the assistant to crawl documentation and other relevant materials automatically, ensuring that the information is kept up-to-date.
Manual Uploads: Users can upload guides and videos directly into the knowledge base. The imported content can then be referenced by Orion to provide answers or display multimedia resources when responding to inquiries.
By having a well-structured knowledge base and appropriate configurations, users can enhance the performance of the Orion assistant and ensure efficient, accurate assistance within their product.
